The fifteenth TEL International conference on computational and cognitive linguistics

The fifteenth TEL International conference on computational and cognitive linguistics will be held between October 31 and November 3 in Kazan, Russia. The conference will be organized by the Institute of Applied Semiotics of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences and Kazan Federal University.

The conference program will include plenary lectures and parallel sessions, round tables and software demonstrations.

  • Communication models
  • Corpus linguistics: creation, markup, evaluation, and use of text corpora
  • Digital linguistic resources
  • Document analysis: classification, search, sentiment analysis, and related areas
  • Formal language models and their use in computational linguistics
  • Linguistic analysis of social media
  • Cognitive models their use in computational linguistics
  • Machine translation of text and speech
  • Models and methods of semantic text analysis
  • Theoretical and computational lexicography
  • Typology and computational linguistics

Within the framework of the main conference, the Uniturk workshop, on the unification of systems of grammatical and semantic annotation in electronic corpora of Turkic languages will be held. We also plan to organize a new workshop “Computational Models in Language and Speech”.

The working languages of the conference are English, Russian, and Tatar. The working language of the “Computational Models in Language and Speech” workshop is English.

TEL conference covers a broad range of problems and practical tasks in computational linguistics, from linguistic research to the process solution in the end product. Particular attention is focused on modeling, analysis and creation of computational resources for Turkic languages.

The conference is a traditional venue for specialists in linguistics, communication, knowledge representation and automatic text processing to meet, discuss their ideas, and share expertise.

We kindly invite you to submit your original unpublished papers. Manuscripts may be 8-15 pages (full papers) or 5 pages (short papers).

Please submit your papers through the conference site.

All the submissions will be blind reviewed by three reviewers.

All the papers that are accepted for their presentation at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings (with their placement in the Russian Scientific Citation Index system).

We plan to publish the proceedings of the “Computational Models in Language and Speech” workshop as a special volume that will be submitted to the electronic library of the CEUR Workshop Proceedings (with subsequent indexing in Scopus).
